Received in trade from ajzy, thanks for the opportunity! Pours a lightly hazy deep golden color with a huge fluffy bone white head that that dissipates as quickly as the bubbles in a glass of ginger ale. Tart and funky fruit dominate the aroma here. Lemons, cherries, and berries with lots of lactic sourness and funk make up most of the nose with hints of brown sugar deep in the background. The flavor puckers your face up front with lemons and tart cherries. Light brown sugar malt sneaks in before the citric return and burns a hole deep into your nether region. Medium body with a moderate level of carbonation and a slick tart puckering mouthfeel. Nice American wild, I’m glad I got to try it.

Beautiful crimson color with no head. Big brett, berries, oak and cherries, very very tart nose. The mouth is dry and very tart with berries jumping out all around the place with some oak. Uber well balanced. I couldn’t agree more that this would be a great beer to convert Pinot drinkers over to beer. Wow, very unique. I love this stuff.

Pors ruby-gold into a tulip. White head with little retention recedes to mottle surface. Dark cherry and tart summer berry aromas. Sharp with sour cherry and blackberry upfront turning to oak and lactic tartness in the lasting finish.

Bottle @ Matt’s house, courtesy of TheAlum. Thanks so much, Adam! Gusher. Pours a lavender, orangish appearance with an off white head. A bit vinous, big dark berry, oaky, vanilla, blackberry aroma. Somewhat funky, vinous, grape, sour blackberry, tangy, raspberry flavor with a fairly dry, vinegar finish. Fun beer to drink

Growler from the John’s Creek Beer Growler. Dark ruby colored, with a lot of carbonation, but no head. The aroma is distinct red wine, with some notes of pine, caramel, and coriander. The flavor is strong and unflinchingly tart, with a little backbone of fruity sweetness. Medium body, a little sticky, acidic, and very lively on the tongue. Overall, this is a well-made, well balanced, and very aggressive sour ale.

22 oz. bottle, pours a clear ruby red with a small off-white head. Aroma of blackberries, raspberries, dark fruits, some wood tannins, and red wine barrels. Flavour is fairly tart, but also very juicy, full of blackberries and raspberries, wild yeasts (definitely some brett in there), and subtle use of the cabernet wine barrels to accentuate the complexity. Very complex, with a very refined mesh of flavours. My favourite of the Goose Island sour ales. Excellent stuff - very sophisticated.

Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a white wine glass. Pours clear graduated yellow at bottom to light red on top with small off-white head. Little lacing, medium body, low carbonation, and vinegar aroma. Taste is sour, oak, red wine, and some vinegar. Not bad, but not great.

2012 bottle from Deeside Drinks Emporium. It pours hazy deep red with a small fizzy white head. The nose is wood, vanilla, almond, coconut, tart berry, lemon, vinegar and red grape. The taste is tart berry, lemon, wood, red grape, strawberry, rhubarb, light vinegar and moderate acidity with dry, tart finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Flavoursome and well balanced. Not the most complex fruit sour, but enjoyable nonetheless.

2009 vintage, bottled Aug 14. $16 @ Binny’s. Off to Thanksgiving weekend with my family, most of whom won’t be drinking. So I’m "laying down a layer." Oops! Opens with a gusher that won’t stop pumping foam out the top of the bottle. Once it finally calms down in my Goose Vintage stem glass, I have a cloudy caramel beer, a bit pinkish,with loose sediment, a loose foam on top. Has a definite red wine nose, with faint berry background subsumed by aromatic malt. Taste is quite tart. Lacks the creaminess of New Glarus Raspberry Tart. Another pour now shows a nice, fizzy champagne head. Starts to drink more like a champagne, thanks to, I assume, a secondary ferment. Tartness grows on me, with a little bit of fruit. May be a little shallow, but a decent American sour beer.

Bottle from Ølbutikken. A bit hazy orange with a minimal head. A very nice beer this one. Nicely sour with wood, berries, yeast, green apples and grapes. Dry mouthfeel. The finish was very tart. A very refreshing beer.
