This Vietnamese coffee version of Speedway Stout is and continues to be AleSmith's most popular variation of the ever-growing Speedway Stout collection. Since 2012 we have been adding this blend of four Vietnamese coffees, known in Vietnam as cà phê sa đá, to our popular imperial stout. The coffee beans were slowly roasted at low temperatures and then brewed by AleSmith with a traditional phin-style filter that gently percolates water through the ground coffee. The result is an intensely aromatic and bold tasting coffee that complements the notes of chocolate and roast in this massive stout.

On tap at Beavertown Extravaganza 2017. Its a whale. Black beer lasting tan head. Lots of coffee. Mocha coffee flavour. Smooth as hell. So my favourite imperial stout with exrea coffee. Smooth vanilla. Enormously good. The best of the Speedway variations.

9 4 8 4 18 Draft @ Nederlandse Bieren Festival Delft ’17, or from ’t Klooster actually. Pitch black color with a brown head. Aroma’s of hard roasted malts, chocolate, coffee. Retronasal there’s chocolate, sweetness, roast. Flavor is moderate sweet, chocolate. Strong alcohol feel. Full bodied. Long finish with roast, chocolate and moderate bitterness. F***ing awesome.

Tap at t Klooster. Almost black with dark beige head. Massive chocolate, light coconut, roasted malts, soft sweet coffee, fudge, vanilla. Quite sweet and medium bitter. Full bodied. Very fucking nice.

Tap at Nederlandse Bieren Festival, Klooster Delft. Black with tan head. Big sweet deep roasted chocolate malts, coffee. Big sweet and dense roasted coffee bitter. Full body and soft carbonation. On tap at Mikkekker & Friends. Pitch black pour with a fine-grained tan head. Notes of roasted coffee, brewed coffee, toffee, molasses, chocolate. Smooth texture, creamy and lightly carbonated. Black with a brown head - Dark malt and coffee aroma - Malt body with coffee flavour and bitterness - The malt and coffee with bitterness goes into the finish - This was real good

On tap @ Mikkeller & Friends. This is a pretty darn dark one. Near black in color and on the top an initially medium sized but fading dark beige filmy and sidesticking top. It smells quite sweet and inviting. Dark chocolate, dark roasted coffee. There's lots of vanilla and bourbon tones here also. Really nice stuff. It has a strange texture in the mouth. Almost watery, of course it's not but it's a little boozy and thin. Soft and prickling on the carbonation. Lots of coffee in the taste. It's dark vanilla infused, the cream/caramel thing you get in your coffee at 7-11. Boozy but not directly warming. Well, must admit that I had hoped for a bit more, but by all means it's a good dark tasting one. 15.05.2016
