Tap at Doppio Malto Navigli, Milan, 15th October 2025. Pours black and clear, aroma is chocolate, malts, citrus and booze. Taste is powerful, citrus and chocolate, boozy, best of the 4 I had here

Taster at Rome FCO Airport, very dark amber almost brown beer, small head. Aroma is malt, caramel, fruit, pine. Taste is the same, pine, resinous bitterness, fruit, caramel, bitter dry aftertaste, some light alcohol. Nice one

On keg at Doppio Malto, Glasgow. Appearance - hazy amber with a thin off-white head. Nose - pine, bread and toffee. Taste - pine resin and grapefruit. Palate - medium bodied, chewy middle and dry resinous finish. Overall - yeah, a bit of a revisit to West Coast or Cascadian style.

On tap at Glasgow location. Pours black with a beige head. Roasted malt, citrus, grapefruit, pine, harsh finish.

Smell of burnt malt, hops, ash. Bronze colour, beige head. Aroma of caramel malt, hops, dried fruit, some faint ash in finish. Bitter and sweet. Soft carbon. Oily texture. Robust body.

Dark amber to mahogany colour, large, dense beige-ish ecru head; aroma of pine resiny, cocoa, toasted rye bready and some roasted nutty, as well as minimal grapefruity notes; taste is resiny-hoppy bittery with burnt bittery support and some over-roasted nutty and cocoa powder notes; not bad at all

Keg at the Glasgow bar. Pours deep amber, nose is roasted, meaty, piney, taste is juicy fruit, roasted, light bitterness.

Black beer, thick white head. Rich, toasty malt, some bitter fruity hop. Simple flavours but hearty, rich, well balanced. Very drinkable.
