33cl can from Grand Cru, Santarcangelo, Italy. Pours dark brown with cream colour foam, fine. Aroma is malty, chocolate, nutmeg. Body is dense and sticky, with good carbonation. Taste is sweet malty, with good amount of bitterness going with it, for a full mouth. Finish is long and aromatic.

12 oz. can. Pours clear dark amber with a small light beige head. Aroma is caramel, coffee, nuts, chocolate notes. Taste follows nose with an emphasis on nuttiness and malts. Pretty good stuff.

Can @ home. Very enjoyable stuff. A bit like a barleywine or quadrupel, but slightly more hop forward and less sticky sweet. Still quite sweet, don’t get me wrong, but not annoyingly sweet. Good stuff! Medium to full body, soft carbo.

Clear dark amber, light beige froth. Sweet malt aroma, some dried fruit and wood. Alcohol too. Woody, malty flavour. Burnt caramel, alcohol. Dry and bitter. Slightly alcoholic finish.

Pours a slightly murky dark copper with a couple of fingers of off-white head. Quite lively and complex aroma. Caramel malts, raisins/figs and slightly citric fruitiness, slight alcohol warminess and a bit of spiciness among a quite strong resinous feel. Taste follows the aroma, with an overall less clean and maybe less vivid profile, with some earthiness to it. Overall this is quite strong in both sweetness and bitterness. Medium to dense bodied with average carbonation. All in all an intense and quite interesting beer, though not too refined in my opinion.
