Named for a medieval Scottish sword, Claymore Scotch ale is a tribute to the legendary "Wee Heavy" beers of Scotland. A malty, deep-ruby-hued ale, it features a generous amount of caramel sweetness, a reserved hop profile and a subtle warming character, at 7.7% alcohol by volume. Claymore will be available in six-packs and on draft through mid-April.

12 oz bottle. Pours black with moderate head. Aromas of sweet dark malts. Flavors of dark sugar, raisins, and sweet roasted malts. Right on style, Enjoyable.

Pours very dark brown with a large, lasting pale tan head.Nose shows peated malt, caramel, bready and nutty notes.Rich flavours. Peat, cocoa, toasty malt, slightly solventy booze and sweet bready malt.

12oz bottle on 16th July 2014 while on holiday in California. No head on my malty brew which I found a bit too sweet for it’s own good. The caramel flavourings need to be toned down a little in my eyes. I enjoyed it because I like malty/sweet beers but this did not sit right with me. A pity really because I usually really lap Scotch Ales up.

Bottle. A- Bacon, coffee, brown sugar, malts, smokey, roasty. A- Dark brown color, dark liquid, brown head. T- Bacon, coffee, soy sauce, smokey, caramel, cocoa, woody, robust. P- Full body, average texture, subtle carbonation, smooth finish. O- A full bodied and smooth and rich beer. A lot darker color than I was expecting. The aroma and taste was a lot like bacon and coffee. It reminded me of breakfast. Balanced well and a complexity to it, I’ve never had before. Not too much wrong with this beer!

Bottle. Earthy musty malt aroma. Dark brown with a small tan head. Slighty sweet caramel malt and earthy rooty/herbal flavor. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Opaque dark brown beer with a small bubbly tan head. Smooth palate with light fine carbonation. Light and sweetish dark malts. Little lactose and tang, Mellow dark fruits underneath. Whisper of something a little spicy. Finishes light and semi dry. Decent.

Tap at Great Divide, Denver. Poured a clear dark brown with a round off white head. The aroma is earthy roasted malt. The flavour is medium bitter with a roasted malt liqourice red berry fruit palate. A full bodied ale.
