Together with our friends at Other Half, NY, we’ve brewed this fully packed and spiced up big sour that is as easy as one two three: One beer. Two breweries. Three types of ginger… and a touch of lemon. Root!
We met Other Half out of New York through our mutual friends Omnipollo. We were going to New York and Omnipollo set us up with the guys for a brew day. We brewed Light Therapy together. A fantastically plush cocoa nib, sesame seed and coconut imperial stout. For the re-brew back here at our place we wanted to do something completely different but equally extra everything. Ideas went flying back and forth and in the end it boiled down to a sour, a big sour. With ginger. Loads and loads of ginger. All the ginger.

Bottle, koszi Panni! Pours semi-opaque, orangeish golden with quickly disappearing head. Nose is big spicy ginger, slightly bitter citrus peels, lactic acid. Taste is ginger upfront, then comes a nice combination of lemon, lime and lactic acid with just a tiny touch of booze. In the finish there’s the citrus peels and a moderate sourness with a nicely spicy ginger touch to it. Long finish, light to medium body, average carbo.

(Bottle) Amber colour, slightly hazy, with brief off-white head. Spicy nose with ginger, orange peel and white bread. Spicy, tart taste with notes of ginger, grapefruit, white bread and a finish with a low bitterness and a light ginger heat. Medium body, dry. A bit one-dimensional, but tasty and refreshing. Nice one.

Cheers to a hard fought tournament Sweden! Quite a nice sour, almost tastes like a tart ginger beer.
