The third beer in our Monster Soup series is brewed to an original recipe from Simonds Brewery of Reading, UK, dated 1869. The standard bitter from a distinguished pale ale brewer at a time when this type of beer was gaining widespread popularity. Closer to what we’d call an IPA in this day and age, this one’s a golden brew with a predominantly hoppy character. Resiny, floral, orange-like aromas from the unmistakable Golding hop, along with soft malts and some fruitiness lead the way to a crisp and distinctly bitter finish.
