750 ml. Cloudy golden body. Huge, frothy white head, lasting. Aroma of floral hops, lemon, toasted grain, herbs, fruits, mustiness, orange, citrus. The flavor is moderately sweet, lightly bitter and lightly acidic The finish is lightly sweet, moderately bitter and lightly to moderately acidic. Sweet start dries quickly. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Clean, delicate malts washed with tight, but lively carbonation. Taste of orange, grapefruit. Light pepper. Lingering bitterness. Outstanding balance. World class and, finally, a brown bottle from Dupont. 2000th rating.

750 ml bottle into tulip glass, 2013 bottling. Pours lightly hazy golden amber color with a nice 2 finger dense and fluffy white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that lingers. Spotty foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a good amount of streaming carbonation retaining the head. Aromas of big orange zest, lemon zest, pear, herbal, floral, coriander, grass, pepper, clove, hay, bread, light funk, and earthy yeast spiciness. Damn nice aromas with good balance and complexity of hop and fruity/spicy yeast ester notes; with good strength. Taste of orange zest, lemon zest, pear, clove, pepper, herbal, coriander, floral, grass, hay, bread, light funk, and yeast earthiness. Lingering notes of citrus, light fruits, pepper, clove, herbal, floral, coriander, grass, bread, light funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Fantastic balance and complexity of citrus hops with fruity/spicy yeast esters; with a nice spiciness over fruitiness flavor balance; and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium-high carbonation and medium bodied; with a very crisp, smooth, and fairly prickly mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with only a slight warming noticed after the finish. Overall this is a highly excellent saison. Great balance and complexity of hop and yeast flavors; very smooth and crisp to drink. A highly enjoyable offering.

Max’s Taphouse, Baltimore tap: Pours hazy yellow/gold with white head. Aroma is gentle hopping, gentle sugar, and a nice hit of that dirty funk. Taste is similar to saison dupont, of course, Nice mellow bitterness hitting it from the bottom. Gentle sweetness throughout. Superlative aftertaste. To the reviewers who said this was too bitter: what? This beer was hardly bitter, especially compared to the saison IPAs that are pretty common now. But yeah, superlative.

"2013 Cuvee" with Triskel dry hops. $12.99 pre tax. Pours with a moderately hazy golden hued body with a large and retentive white head. Aromas are of fruity and earthy hop notes, slightly noble, damp hay, big ester, baked apple, spicy phenols, black pepper, weeds, baked apple pie, lightly malty. Unique fruit and spicy hop notes (my first experience with Triskel). Lightly caramelized. Flavors are bright and dry, lots of appley esters, rustic horsey hay and straw notes, baked bread, spice hops. Medium low bitterness, complex yeast character with moderate minerality. Herbal and delicate. Floral, almost basil like. Delicate, refined and elegant. I really wish all Dupont came in brown bottles. This is awesome, but not all that much better than a very fresh and unlightstruck regular Dupont. Nice to see it here, but too expensive to stock the fridge with it regularly.
