Real spearmint and peppermint — not extract — combine with cocoa nibs and vanilla beans to create your reward for making it through winter.
Ancient Greeks tell us (’cause we talk to them) that Persephone turned Minthe into a mint plant in a jealous rage, to keep the little nymph away from her man Hades. Jealous rages rarely end well, but if one did result in mint we’re glad: this is a unique and delicious stout, and we recommend having one while you calm the hell down.

Canned at SBWF. Near black, rich head. Strong peppermint aroma. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Simplistic flavour of chocolate and mint. Low bitterness. Gimmicky, and not really in a fun way.

Sample at SBWF 2013. Dark brown with a small head. This was a strange beer, totally dominated by mint. Also chocolate and some roasted malt. Not my cup of tea.

Can. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is a strong mint toothpaste and chocolate. Sweet chocolate and overpowering mint flavor. Decent.

Can 355ml @ Motel Room, Motel 6, Kingman, AZ
Pours reddish dark brown with a tan head. Aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and way to much peppermint. Taste is light to medium sweet and light bitter with a long peppermint and chocolate finish. Body is medium, texture is thin to oily, carbonation is soft.

Can. It pours a very dark brown body, looking unclear, and topped by a dense, finger-thick beige head. The aroma has a lot of mint, leaving too little room for chocolate, coffee and roasted malts. It’s full-bodied and smooth on the palate, semi-sweet, with too much mint in the flavor too. Roasted malts, coffee and dark chocolate, and some roasted malts bitterness in the end. Which of course is also mint-ish. Overall, quite nice, but please use less mint. 130819

Can at BrewDog Birmingham; black pour with thin tan head, sweet mint aroma, taste is almost like Vienetta mint flavour, backed up with a decent stout.

Pour is a black with a small tan head. Aroma is of mint and a slight creamy dark roast. Flavor is just like a dark cream de mint. A little too much mint was used imo. Kinda clears out the sinuses. Finish leaves a little more of the mint with some of the rosted malt. They way over used the mint but if your a fan of mint this is the beer for you. I would have liked more of the base beer to show up.
