On our journey to find our best barrel of yeast and bacteria, to find The Rare Barrel 2018, The Search Party helped select the top barrels from our barrel cellar. It’s with gratitude that we present a bottle where some of our friends and Ambassadors of Sour were the blenders. The following are the top rated barrels that were blended into The Search:

Bottle. Pours clear pale golden, medium white head, good lacing. Aroma is dusty, lemon, bugs, oak. Flavor is light tart, light funk. Not complex, but pleasant. Medium light body.

Bottle. Pours golden with small white head that diminishes to nothing. The aroma is apple skin, funk, oak. Thin body, tart apple, light acidity, nice funk, enjoyed this.

Bottleshare @ Oedo beer festival, Shinagawa Intercity. Light yellow pour, creamy and with some white foam on top. Nice stuff. Sour nose, good funk there. Lightly tart, autumny. Light vinegar, fruity, soft farmhouse feel to it. Feels like a good gueuze. Apple-skins bitterness, good light linger in the finish.
