Honoring the eclectic East Side of the city, this Bavarian dark lager is a blend of three specialty grains, creating a rich, smooth, dark beer that anyone can enjoy. Pours a clear, dark color with an off-white head. Hints of roasted malts find their way into the aroma, and form a pleasant background to the dark, rich flavor. The German lager yeast rounds out this brew with a smooth, complex finish. Winner of the 2014 and 2016 European Beer Star Gold Medal for Bohemian-Style Schwarzbier.

Bottled. Deep reddish brown colour with a big off-white fluffy head. Aroma is toasted malts, some grains, hay, mild herbal and grassy tones. Flavour is biscuity and bready with some caramel, chocolate, toast and mild grassy bitterness to it. OK dark lager.

Smell of rye bread. Cola colour, light brown head. Aroma of malty bread (limppu), tar, some cough mixture, roasted malt. Sweet with a faint bitterness. Oily, thick texture. Very nicely heavy body. Medium carbon. Pure in flavours. Simplistic, yet great.

Bottle @ Taptap tasting. Copper pour with very little foam on top. Sweetish caramel nose, toasted and with that lager edge, lightly crisp and bitter. Taste is caramelly, medium to low bitterness, relatively sweet. Decent and sweetish brew, nothing special really but has some lingering bitterness finishing this. Not bad.

Bottled 355ml (Alko web, BB 01/2019)
Dark nut brown colour, medium-sized beige head. Aroma is nutty with some caramel and ash. Light to medium-bodied. Toffee, toasted malts, chocolate or cocoa powder, nuttyness, grass. Quite Bavarian like but no need to brought it here. Better orginals available.

A dark brown beer, a head is blond. Aroma has breadyness, rye bread and sour bread, some sweetness of syrup. Taste has maltyness breadyness, some sweetness of syrup that's balanced, not too sweet, hint of chocolate. Medium bodied, smooth. Balanced and good beer.
