enjoyed this as a treat in a 33 cl bottle at de kelk ( bruges) . wich i’m very thanfull for ! this one and hel en verdoemenis made me a real fan of de molen ! this is a stout ( so i knew already i was gonna like it) but less sweet than de hel en verdoemenis. but WAAW ! so concentrated, withoud going over the top ! they’ve menaged to create a thickness, a complexity, a heaviness and so on, that is just right there at the line , but not crossing it. theyve pusched it to the maximum withoud going in the red zone ! if these were cheaper and unlimited ( wich i think they are) id have one weekley !

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a pitch black with a tiny brownish head. Roasty nose combined with quite some whisky heat. Medium body only, surprisingly carbonated. Quite some chocolate, bitter roast while the alcohol is surprisingly well hidden. 030812

Bottle at O’Connor’s, Uppsala July 2012. (thanks konstifik) Black with a small tan head. Aroma and taste of roasted malt, coffee, some smoke and whisky. Quite complex with notes of alcohol. Not bad but something was missing.

A black beer with a quite big, beautiful and dark brown head. Aroma is strong and nice, roastiness, black coffee, chocolate, some liquirice and vanilla. A powerful taste, lots of liquirice and roastiness, coffee, enough of bitterness that are herbal, quite lot of sweetness but it’s balanced with other nuancees some whisky barrel in the aftertaste. Full bodied, smooth and nice to drink. Good and balanced IS, also slightly impersonal and the whisky barrel is too hidden; quite sweet, powerfull, liquirice and roasted.
