Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration, 2012. Black with medium brown head. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee and a little liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, little liquorice, medium sweet, little oak, little acid, hops, medium bitter with notes of alcohol.

CBC. Black with a brown head. Aroma is sweet, roasted malt, chocolate and alcohol. Flavor is quite sweet and rather bitter. Dry and rather bitter finish. Oily. 120512

Black color. Mild but very nice aroma of roasted malt, chocolate, peat; iodine. Good body strength; good roasted malt flavor, cut by a slight sourness; the booziness from the barrel here is a bit more evident.

Tap @ Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Pours pitch black with a creamy tan head. Aroma of roasted malt, oak, coffee, dried dark fruits. Taste is malts, oak, coffee, light smoke, whisky, dark fruits. Full body, low carbonation, mildly burning alcohol in the finish. 120512

bottle at home ... deep black ... big tan head ... that colapses to thin tan head ... deep meaty ... roast malt nose ... light fizz ... deep dark roast malts ... little too much whiskey and little too much fizz ... fruity roast ... soft chocolate ... mellow whisky ... nice but not stunning

17/V/2012 - 33cl bottle from De Hopduvel (Gent) @ Klaas' place - bottled: 28/II/12 (2012-513) Thanks to Bene for sharing the bottle!

Clear deep brown to black beer, small aery beige head, unstable, non adhesive. Aroma: lots of mocha, dried fruits, caramel, alcohol, some disinfectant, bit of coffee. MF: lot of carbon, medium body, alcohol burning the throat. Taste: mocha, coffee, sugary, dried fruits, warming alcohol. Aftertaste: dark chocolate, mocha, coffee, oatmeal, raisins, brown sugar.

Sample at Copenhagen Beer Celebration. Black colour, tan head. Moderately roasty and oaky aroma, hints of vanilla and chocolate. Medium sweet flavour, notes of coffee, chocolate, vanilla and oak. Could use some more hops, but still a good beer as it is.

tap at cbc pitch dark, smooth brown head. roasted malty aroma, boozy. falvor is roaste malty, bitter malty.

Bottle (kindly shared by tdtm82, thanks!). Pitch back colour, smaall brown head. Aroma is smoked wood, alcohol, some mild spicy burn as well as liquorice. Flavour is roasted malts, liquorice, some fruits and quite spicy with some mild alcohol too. Alcohol mostly shows in a warming feeling in the throat.

Draught, 12.3% at CBC12. Black colour. Dark brown colour. The flavour is roasted with a good mild vanilla note. Sweet and fruity. Clean and alcoholic.
