I finished off day 1 of Ibaraki Bakuon with this beer from the Tochigi booth. A clear copper gold, big bold hop bouquet and a medium full body. The taste is pithy grapefruit and pine with some prickly pear notes. A tad slick in body but generally a well balanced brew that hides the 8.3% ABV nicely. Also a good beer to end the fest on, new King of the Fest?

Golden color. Modestly heady nose with hints of cookies. Somewhat malty and sweet. Full body, Modestly hoppy, dried fruits in mouth. Off sweet. Not a tons of depth. Ok.

Pours golden and quite clear, just a bit of white foam on top, not too carbonated. Nose is quite heavily hopped, sweet and sticky edge to it as well there, some booze. Fruity. Taste reveals quite rich body, clean taste, still generously hopped with fruity and grassy notes. Overall quite dry, tannins drying out the tongue. Tasty.
