Hommelbier from Poperinge was brewed for the first time in 1981, for the triennial hop festival in the village. Hommel is local dialect for hops, and was the inspiration for the name of this tribute to Poperinge’s most famous export product. Since then, Poperinge’s Hommelbier has earned quite a reputation for itself with beer fans around the world, for its unique style, brewed with 100% hops from Poperinge.
Deze ‘Golden Ale’ heeft een stevige witte schuimkraag die uitnodigt om de geur van groene hop, gist en lichte fruittoetsen te ontdekken. Na een volle en verfrissende kruidige smaak verandert het pallet naar lichte citrus, sinaasappel en pompelmoes, ondersteund door de hop. De honingzachte afdronk laat een licht kruidige komijnsmaak uitlopen op een volle hopsmaak.

Bière bue à la pression au Bierbuik à Lille sous le nom de Boeschepe Bier. Une blonde Banale qui tire un peu sur la pils par un arrière goût de malt un peu désagréable. Déception en découvrant que c'est en fait un alias de la Poperings Hommelbier.

Bottle. Pale golden color, with a huge head, slowly collapsing. Aroma shows some nice hops notes, honey, candy sugar. Taste is more sweet, spicy, licorice, not really hoppy as the name would suggest. Some alcohol taste. Full body, medium carbonation. All in all a good beer.

07.12.2018 -- 0.33l bottle in an advent calendar from casino geant, bb 23.08.2020. pours a slightly hazy pale golden with a huge frothy head. aroma of belgian yeast, citrus, perfume, white bread. flavour of pears, candy, perfume, earl grey tea. fizzy carbonation. alcohol is well hidden. nice even when it warmed up a bit.

Light amber, deep gold color. Its foam is huge, with small holes in white, and after a while it looks like hungarian food: "bird's milk". :) Aroma is restrained, strawy, meadow grassy. The taste is full, cognac, dried fruit, a little caramel, but not very sweet, very delicious. All without added sugar. Outstanding Belgian beer, a very pleasant disappointment. Very drinkable, properly carbonated. Recommended.

Világos borostyán, mély arany szín. A habja hatalmas, apró lyukú fehér, majd kis idő múlva olyan mint a madártej. :) illata visszafogott, szalmás, réti füves. Íze telt, konyakos, aszalt gyümölcsös, picit karamelles, de nem túl édes, nagyon finom. Mindez hozzáadott cukor nélkül. Kiemelkedő belga sör, nagyon kellemes csalódás. Nagyon jól iható, megfelelően szénsavas. Ajánlott.

Thuis uit een flesje. Enorm veel wit schuim, wat later wel wat inzakt, maar toch goed aanwezig blijft. Troebel goud/oranje kleur. Aangename smaak, licht zoet, beetje vlak zelfs. Zoals gezegd: aangenaam.

Aus der Flasche in einem Restaurant in Belgien. Trübes volles Orange, Handbreit fester Schaum. Aroma: Mango, Ananas, Holunder - alles sehr intensiv. Geschmack: Ananas, Holunder, Weizen, angenehme Süße . Speichelbildend, Medium Kohlensäure.
