Almost black body, with a medium, creamy, beige head.
Aroma of peat, coffee, dark chocolate, cocoa, fresh herbs, citrus, some ash,
Tastes quite similar, with a bit more cocoa powder.
Medium, a bit oily mouthfeel, with an average carbonation.
Finishes roasty, medium dry, a bit hoppy, a bit peaty, slightly wooden.

Very nice. Really diverse, with a lot of depth, roasty, sweet, hoppy, dry and peat notes in a great balance. Unique stuff, while it isn’t overwhelming, drinks pretty smooth. Enjoyed this a lot.

BB 30.11.2018. black color, small coffee-colored head. smells of peat, leathery, some herbs, weird but also nice smell. full body, light carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes of sage, leathery, peat, rather herbal, rosmarin. finishes quite bitter and rather peated with notes of rosmarin, peat and sage. rather unique beer, I am not totally convinced but its a lot better than most other peat beers, overall still rather nice.

Bottle from Hasegawa Liquors. Pours pitch black with deep brown foam on top. Aroma is mainly peaty, tons of peat smoke, some whisky and some smoked leather. Totally peaty, maybe even a bit too much though. Taste is also intensely peaty, caramel flavours and roast are also probably there but I am not really able to recognise them. I do recognise the herbs, big time - sage, rosemary - they depart some distinctive bitterness to the beer, different from what you can get from hops. Lots of liquorice and Rigas Balzams in this beer. Aftertaste is long as all this leathery pettiness really coats your mouth and these flavours linger for long. Overall, maybe I should have aged this bottle for a while, right now still not really balanced and needs to mellow down a bit.
