Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a relatively dry ale with rich nutty colour and palate of beech nuts, almonds and walnuts.

500ml bottle delivered by the Blue Boar, Leicester and drunk at home. Light brown, cmear with a quuckly dissipating off-white head. Light malty aroma, some woddy notes, chestnut. Sweet nutty taste turns slightly bitter on the finish. A bit of woody tang in the aftertaste. Slightly watery body with carbonation on the heavy side. A step above your average British bitter, nothing vey terribly special but a nice drink all the same.

Enjoying this classic tonight whilst watching Jalen Hurts led Eagles, so far, so good. Check out this save by Palace keeper Vicente Guaita. Got his team a point today.

Nutty and raisins aromas. Taste is dry, nutty-malty with nice hoppy finish.

Some light rust and caramel. A little leather and black tea. Pours dark amber with ok initial head. This is probably a little highly rated - one of those posterity things. A touch of bark in the finish, and some woody cloying tang. Bottle.

Rocky off white head left a froth on a reddish brown still body. Malt & sweet spiced aroma. Medium bodied, average carbonation & clean on the back. Nutty, roasted, malt, syrup & liquorice tastes. It's a good one.
