Brewed with well water (the original well at the Old Brewery, sunk in 1758, is still in use, with the hard well water being drawn from 85 feet underground); best barley malt, yeast and aromatic hops; fermented in ‘stone Yorkshire squares’ to create a relatively dry ale with rich nutty colour and palate of beech nuts, almonds and walnuts.

Bottle by a friend. Aroma fruity, dark fruits, also caramel . Clear amber to brown colour. Taste is mostly bitter, lightly metallic, otherwise light roasted malt and some mild grassy hoppiness. Thin bodied. Overall average beer.

Brown with an off white head - Malty aroma with some caramel - Good malt body that has sweet caramle malt - Caramel and sweet malt goes into the finish - This was nice

Botella de 35.5 cl en el lúpulo en octubre de 2012. color marrón oscuro y algo especiadas con toques dulces de caramelo y azúcar moreno tostado. Buena.

Brown color with a creamy beige head. Smell is roasted malt. Taste is roasted, bread crust, and nuts. Light bitter finish. Nice.

Pours chestnut in colour, clear, with a big pillowy off white head. Nutty, malty, caramel, and hops in the aroma. Medium to full mouthfeel, nutty, almond, hop hints, lots of malt, dark fruit hints, some chocolate in the background, raisin juice, some carbonation. Very nice ale.

Fin gyllen kastanjebrun farge. Duft av rosiner, nøtter og syrlige frukter. Tynt lag skum, ring langs kant. Smak av nøtter og noe eikepreget.

Bottle in the lovely Princess Louise. Bright clear amber beer, good pale cream colour head. Smooth airy palate with light fine carbonation. Tangy malts with touches of unsweet toffee and molasses. Light dried fruits, some bitterness. Finishes dry and crispy carbonated nibble. Decent malt led beer.

550ml bottle from Mitchell’s Wines, Meadowhead - Superb clear red brown body, thick white head, lacing all the way. Very pretty. The smell was nutty and malty leading into a decent sugary note but not overbearing. The taste was sweet and nutty/malty leading into a decent rich malty aftertaste and dry finish. I expected a bit more from this, but it still puts a lot of others to shame.

355ml bottle. BB nov 14. Dark brown in color, lacing, light brown head. Bready, sugary sweet, nutty aroma. Flavor has dark bread, sweetness, toasted malt, hops. Dry finish. Sweetish. Not really to my liking. Sweet dark bread I don´t like.
