Incredible aroma. Fat doughy, yeasty, astringent and warming. Maybe a bit too sweet for my personal taste but a very honest flavour. A new love.

Hazy amber colour, tiny frothy off-white head, lasts for a while, thin layer remains, a bit lacing. Sweet malty toasted aroma, bread, caramel, cloves, coriander, cinnamon, citrus, dough. Taste light to medium sweet, light bitterness, spicy tones. Full-bodied, oily texture, creamy mouthfeel, good carbonation, dry bitter lingering finish, slightly sweet with fruity en spicy tones. Smooth flavour, you don’t taste the alcohol.

Cloudy amber, tiny head that leaves some nice islands. Green apple, yeast, white grapes, cloves, kiwi, orange. Very fruity, with a big punch of yeast and a nice malt balance. Finishes again with lots of fruit. Medium sweet, balanced by yeasty bitterness. Medium mouth with quite a lot of carbonation. Nice.

Schöner aromatisch frischer Geruch nach dunklen, gelben Früchten. Der Antrunk ist angenehm aromatisch-fruchtig, mild-südlich und zum HT etwas voller und herber werdend. Der Ng ist lang, herb-fruchtig, süßlich und klebrig-dickflüssig. --> 12/11/13/12

33 cl. bottle @ home. Procured from Speciaal Bier Winkel in Bodegraven. BBF 03/2014. Gusher, egh. Pours darker hazy orange with a vanish off-white, tanned head. Smell is sweet malts, other grains, hoppy, bitter spices, yeast, light dark fruits,… taste is grainy, bigger rye bread, other grains, caramel, sticky syrupy dark fruits, bitter herbs finish, pretty hoppy, warming. Grainy mouthfeel & higher carb. Pretty different take on the style, good quality, pretty yummy, lovely brew.

Bottle thanks to Leighton, consumed at Bruce’s. It pours hazy amber with a small white head. The nose is earth, toast, toffee, raisin, toffee, sultana and brown bread. The taste is earth, wood, spice, mustiness, sultana, raisin , light alcohol, brown bread and sugar. Medium body and moderate carbonation. Hides alcohol pretty well. Ok, but no real depth.

Bottle at Bruce’s - London. I got this in Amsterdam. Pours lightly hazy gold with a moderate, creamy white head, mild sediment. Sweet bready malts in the nose, honey, marmalade. Medium to heavy sweet flavor, lots of sugary bread, honey, some caramel, mild alcohol, faint bitter earth. Full bodied with fine, creamy carbonation. Sticky sweet finish, some bitter pine, bread, lightly toasted sugars. Pretty tasty. Reasonable balance.
