500ml bottle from Sainsbury I think - Bronze with a small off-white foam. Aromas are light toffee malts with fruit followed by metallic, nutty hops. Flavours are burnt toffee malts with moreish bitter, metallic, hops. Bit thin, but better than I expected.

Bottle at Seiyu, as Gentleman JAMES. I suppose it must be that they Japanese don’t understand “Jack.” \298. Rather malty nose, some caramel, English hops, grass, some nuts. Dark amber-orange with a low, fine head. Sweet and malty, caramel and chocolate and nuts. Dry, grassy hops. Very dry finish. Clean. A rather typical bottled bitter, but good hops and nicely drinkable, and good for the price in Japan.

From BA: July 2007. Clear 500ml bottle. Cheap supermarket beers often taste like cheap supermarket beers, this one fits into that bracket quiet nicely. Dull copper in colour with a white head that dispersed very quickly. Very little smell, some hops but nothing else I could detect. Disappointing taste, watery for a 5% beer, nothing like a normal strong ale. Overal a big let down, I will not be trying this again.

Bottled. A nut-brown beer with a yellowish head. The aroma has notes of hops, elderflowers, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of hops, malt, and caramel, leading to a dry roasted finish.
