A selected blend of choice coffees gives complexity and depth to the dark beer with a compact creamy head. Coffee notes in the bouquet, which is particularly broad and fascinating. Hints of chocolate in the mouth, together with nuts and liquorice for an unforgettable experience.

Bottle from the The Hop Pole (shop) Aylesbury, Buckinghamshire, Thursday 20th August 2015 Looks superb, dark, dark brown in fact probably black, slight ruby hue at bottom of glass, so back to dark brown, large creamy light beige head. Very soft in mouth creamy, lots of coffee, cappuccino, tangy fruits (think dates, dried figs) Surprised with how good this is. A7 A5 T8 P4 Ov15 3.9

Bottle from Seiyu for ¥150. Poured into a Duvel tulip. Pours a deep black with a medium-sized tan head that dissipates fairly quickly. Aromas of roasted coffee, milk chocolate, cacao nibs, cream, toffee and alcohol. Soft to average carbonation with a cola-like mouthfeel. Medium bodied. Taste is fairly close to the nose with some chilli peppers, vanilla and wood coming out as it warms up. Slightly warming finish. Kind of like Prairie’s Bomb! but a lighter, less complex version. Pretty great for the price though. --- Beer merged from original tick of Amarcord AMA Mora on 28 May 2015 at 18:11 - Score: 7

Bottle from Terre de Boissons Calais. Black beer lasting tan head. Big hit of mocha on the aroma. Smells powdery. It’s a little off the pure lovely mocha but still pretty good. Lots of coffee and chocolate some plum dark cherry. Yes it’s bug and full of flavour but I just think it’s a little too much trying too hard . Hides abv well.

Bottle from Seiyu online. I decided to give my new stout glass from Spiegelau a go as well as trying it in a snifter. In both glasses it pours a cola brown become black in the glass. They both had a thick beige head but the stout glass displayed improved head retention. Snifter: The aroma gives a soft roasty coffee with cake like malt notes. The body is med-thin, a touch too watery for me but the flavor is of a semi-sweet slightly creamy coffee. 3.6 Stout Glass: A much more powerful aroma with the coffee having a sharper edge to it, a bit roasty and possibly more of a nutty breadiness. I feel the body comes off as fuller and the flavors are more balanced and harmonious: bitter dark chocolate, roasted coffee, a hint of creaminess, the finish has a bit more of a sharp bite to it. 3.8 This beer is very satisfying in both glasses but the stout glass really brings it to another level. Surprisingly I like the aroma in the snifter better but the taste/mouthfeel better in the stout glass. If you love stouts and dark beers get one of these glasses~!

Bottle from Seiyu ¥399. black with a pretty, high, frothy brown head. Nice nose, coffee or cafe au lait, wood, chocolate, vanilla, light roast. Full sweet chocolate and coffee and cream flavor. Rather light to medium body, clean and crisp. Coffee not at all overdone or sour, really used well for optimum delicioso.
