From a can. Pours hazy yellow, bit of foam. Not really clear at all. Aroma has some funky yeast character, some bread malts together with soapy wet cardboard. Drinks actually OK, wheat feeling to it, some Ginga Kogen house character I guess but no, it is not really good. Overall drinkable although not really a pilsner.

Can from Daiei in himonya. Drank straight rom the can. For some reason it has a weizen like aroma. Average to soft carbonation. Slightly creamy mouthfeel. Light body. Taste has some malt and corn. Very very light hops....basically non-existent. Cream corn aftertaste. Maybe infected? Not really a pils. --- Beer merged from original tick of Beer Pilsner on 16 Jun 2015 at 18:53 - Score: 5

Can from Yamaya. Served in a plastic glass at the beach. A soft gold pour with a big foamy off-white head. The aroma is malty sweet but more malty than sugary which is nice. The taste is a refreshing chewy light maltiness with a sweet edge to it. The malts are very light possibly too light but overall this is a pretty tasty though unimaginative beer. As it warms up some buttery notes show up that detract from the beer somewhat then again maybe that was my imagination...

Can from Yamaya. Unfiltered. Malty nose, biscuits, bread, light citrus hops, some yeasty esters. Very cloudy, dark gold, with a high, fine head. Malty, bready flavor, light hop flavor but pretty strong bitterness, tingly and prickly finish. Yeast influence is strong in flavor and body. A bit bland, but drinkable and hoppy enough. The can says “natural clarity” in the English slogan while the Japanese clearly says “unfiltered.” Strange. I guess it was made to be something like a kellerbier.

33 cl bottle at Deiutsches Haus Ramstein. Pale yellow color, thick white head. Not much aroma, only faint bitterness. Plain and boring. Perfect for the German beer market.
