0.33l bottle from kaisers in berlin.
pours a clear deep amber with a fluffy but quickly disappearing white head and little lacing. mild aroma of toasted malts, caramel, hay. flavour of cardboard, pumpkin, nuts. not too sweet, but mostly because it is just watery -- not too much of anything. fizzy carbonation.

Tap at Sullivan’s in Kichijoji. Clear amber pour with 2 fingers of eggshell colored head. Almost no aroma noticeable, if I strain maybe a faint caramel aroma. Water on the palate and thin bodied. Light malty caramel notes. Papery finish. Meh. Standard Irish bar fare.

[backlog] 13-11-15 / draft at Porterhouse Mainz. I started rating my beers with Untappd and a few basic notes. Now I want to rate them on ratebeer. So my rating sometimes lack some information. Just ignore it, it is for my personal statistics. Untappd-Rating 2.5/5

BB 26/09/2016. copper clear color, small off-white head. smells fruity, some sweetness, plums, light cardboard, hmm, quite average smell. light to medium body, medium carbonation, slick mouthfeel. tastes lightly fruity, plums, some sweetness, light bread, light cardboard, light tobacco. finishes bit dry and lightly bitter with notes of tobacco and light fruit notes. OKish, but not very exciting.

Review based on the BJCP2015 guidelines (style 15A). Bottle 33 cl - Batch L5281GF002. AROMA: grainy malt aroma with very faint background caramel. no hop aroma discernible. APPEARANCE: ambar orange color and cristal clear. moderate to moderate-low off-white head with medium to medium-low retention. TASTE: low malt flavor with a slight grainy note and a faint caramel presence. low bitterness with no hop flavor and a semi-dry finish. PALATE: low body with medium-high carbonation. no diacetyl detected. OVERALL: an irish red ale with less caramel present, less bitterness and less diacetyl, resulting in less body. average, nonetheless.
