Poured into a taster showing highly filtered neon yellow with a dense finger of clean white foam. The nose shows clean and pristine lager malts. The palate is highly carbonated. Light and clean pilsner malts throughout with the final pilsner bitterness. Really simple, very clean, and extremely refreshing.

Draught @ Golden Garden, Hiroshima. Rated on 13.09.2011
Light aroma with grassy hops and some grain. Flavour has sweetish malt, grassy hops and some grain notes. Decent pils from such a big brewery.

Canned. Clear pale golden, rich airy head. Fruity nose with honey and god amounts of grassy, spicy hops. Dryish and rather light bodied, fruity and really grainy with growing late bitterness. Thirst quenching.

New Release in the can, though unpasteurized. the best hops from any mainstream Japanese brewer. A big surprise. Good saaz aroma and flavor, long-lasting bitter finish. Very nice summer thirst quencher with a lot of character. Malts are simple but sufficient. I hope Sapporo has turned around from "dumbing down" to "hopping up."

On tap at 2007 Yokohama Oktoberfest. Clear golden with a good sized head. Light hops, earth tones, and some citrus as well. Crisp, refreshing body. A nice light bitterness, earth, and citrus make up most of hte flavor. Enjoyable and refreshing, I wish it was easier to find.

This beer examplifies Japanese women, Chad and I just can’t agree about it at all. I had a nice thick white head over the golden brew that wouldn’t cease. The nose had some excellent European hops (not saaz I don’t think, but something else from around the Czech) and nice toasty malts. The body is hop accented and finish is bitter and dry with just a touch of toasted malts. Yummy, this is how Pils should be. The best or second best pils in Japan IMO.
