medium Amber color. Strange marmalade caramel nose with odd hop. Big malty backbone, tons of hops. Very pnw in style. But hops are just odd. Ok

Poured from the tap at Bungalow. Very mild haze copper with off-white head. Grapefruit and pine hops with oily sweetness. Mild-light body. Has the hop kick without the full body punch to back it up.

On tap at Bungalow’s 3rd Anniversary. Ushitora double IPA a decent IPA but I don’t really see it as a double. Middle of the road west coast hoppiness with a better body than my last three Ushitora beers. As an IPA it is fine as a double it just doesn’t measure up. Oh, it’s 8.2% no wonder it had an OK body. I guess that puts it on the threshold between an IPA and Double IPA...

Tap at Dig. Light orange, hazy, with lace. Citrus nose, relatively dry. Not huge flavor, but not sweet either. Comes across as dry and drinkable but not really all that exciting.

Draft at Ushitora. Hazy copper with a small off-white head. Nice, big grapefruit, pine resin danky nose with some caramel notes. Bitter and sweet on the palate with pretty solid balance. Caramel malt notes with some orange marmalade sweetness. Good bitter finish that lingers. Hides the alcohol very well. I’m not really a big fan of Imperial IPAs, but if you like the style this is really solid. --- Beer merged from original tick of #028 One Pint Mind Double IPA on 06 Aug 2015 at 19:13 - Score: 7
