Bottle sample at a tasting at Tom L’s place. Thanks rayaron. Clear golden. Aroma of malt, cardboard, a caramel note, graininess. Sweetish flavor with malt, graininess, a bit of caramel, and a cardboard note. Quite light-bodied.

"World’s Best Seasonal Lager 2014" according to World Beer Awards. pours clear amber, no head. honey, caramel, cereals, malts, spices. bittersweet, fruity, roasty. at 5.9% you cannot avoid alcohol taste, but it is not too pronounced. medium body, strong, but with a soft round finish. not sure about "world’s best", but overall not bad for a Märzen, usually I’m not a big fan of this.

Mild würzig malziger Beginn mit minimalem Alkoholtouch. Das helle Malz ist trocken, das Bier zum Ende hin monoton herb. Angenehmer Beginn, eher langweiliges Ende. 8/8/8/7/9/7

Clear golden yellow colour, almost no bubbles, mostly diminishing head.
Aroma roasty malts, floral hops, grass. Taste mild sweet and bitter, nice hoppiness. Light body, light creamy texture, somewhat watery mouthfeel, mild bitter finish, soft carbonation. A friendly beer, well-balanced, hoppy, very nice.

33cl Flip-top bottle: BBD 20 Mar 2014, poured into a tumbler on my hotel room pation on 15 Sep 2013. I’d brought this over the Alps with me to Ste Maxime because I knew how expensive beer was in the South of France. Lovely golden body with a fine white covering for a head. Slight malt sweetness in both the nose and taste: I really liked this brew. There was a nice blend of herbal hop notes and caramel/malty molasses which married together very well: soft bodied and far to easy to drink. I didn’t even notice it was a Marzen when I bought it on the way down in Bad Krozingen, otherwise I might have found room for more.
