A campfire in a glass, this robust beauty has seductive notes of vanilla, smoked cedar, and mulling spices on the nose. A dark pour with mild lacing, she is a rollercoaster of lush chocolate and fig fruits diving into a semi-dry finish of truffle and cherry.

16oz pint at the brewery. Pours a watery, translucent near black with some off white head. Nose of vanilla, some ritz cracker, a little caramel, malty, light chocolate. Flavor is sweet, malty, vanilla, cookies, chocolate, light spice, light coffee. Medium bodied, dry finish. Wife loved it. Sweet but not cloying.

Draft at SAVOR. Poured a dark brown color with a small light tan head. Aroma was Coffee, chocolate, touch of vanilla. Flavor was a lot more subtle for what I was expecting, there’s chocolate and a touch of coffee and vanilla in there, but it’s very subtle. Mouthfeel a bit thin, but enjoyed it enough - paired well with a s’more.

Tap @ brewery. Dark brown appearance with a creamy, tan head. Cocoa, light espresso, wood, a touch of smoke, and chocolate-caramel maltiness. Sweet vanilla, cocoa, dark chocolate, light smoke, roasty malty flavor. Vanilla is pretty potent on the finish. Nice brew. Second time around and I’m more impressed this time. Excellent, dessert-like session brew.

Dark brown beer - nose of maple, chocolate, caramel, light woodsmoke - medium body - fairly dry up front, with notes of bitter bakers chocolate and roast - moderate maple sweetness through the middle - tail end is light woodiness and smoke - lightly bitter finish - the overall impression is that of bacon covered in maple syrup - nice.
