Backlog March 2008. Bottle. Reddish amber body under a big, foamy off-white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, citric hops and alcohol. Taste is very sweet and malty with caramel, some alcohol and rather bitter. Balanced in body but otherwise I feel this beer is a bit messy with just a lot of everything. Too sweet, too boozy and bitterness out of balance.

Bottle from QClub at home. Transparent deep ruby-copper pour with sudsy white head. Aroma is heavy biscuit malt and aggressive earthy hop. Sort of like Arrogant Bastard, but less “arrogant”. Taste is sweeter than Arrogant Bastard, boozier too. Has the same big biscuit malt as the aroma, and a good bitter bite. May not be super fresh, or maybe just that slight Lagunitas mustiness. Heavy slightly slick palate. Big boozy biscuit malt bomb. Not bad but wouldn’t get again.
