The big sister of the Little Sumpin' Sumpin' Ale...Lots of wheat for a curious malt complexity and leaving it light in color, but huge in flavor and satisfaction.

(Keg at Hilpeä Hauki, 20160610) The beer poured deep golden and clear. Its head was medium sized and white. Aroma had malts, molasses and sweetness. Palate was rather full bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were malts, sweetness, pine, grass and bitterness. Aftertaste was hoppy, malty and bitter. More like a barley wine than a double IPA. Nice.

Bottle from Tanakaya. Pours a clear orange amber with a small white head. Lots of honey, marmalade, peach and grapefruit on the nose with some biscuit. Taste is a little sweet and boozy but with some good bitterness on the finish. Solid, but I think I prefer the regular version. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lagunitas A Little Sumpin' Extra! This was poured into a snifter.
The appearance was a semi-hazy burnt orange color with a one finger white foamy head that dissipated within less than thirty seconds leaving some messy semi-thick lacing.
The smell started off with sweet grapefruit pulp that rides over a sly sweet wheat base and ends up allowing sweet lemon to blend nicely.
The taste was mainly sweet with low bitterness of lemon rind trying to make a playful balance, yet just graces it all underneath. There’s a sweet lemon to sly wheat (semi-sweet).
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs fairly light allowing the sweet wheat to make an effort to come forward.
Overall, this was a pretty good DIPA that I could have again.

Bottle. Taste is thick piney hops with lots of bittersweet citrus and other fruit. A decent offering but I prefer it without the extra ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
