Can from Aeon, served in my Stout glass. It pours a dark reddish-brown with a light beige head. The mouthfeel is watery and it has quite a low carbonation. The aroma is fruity (plums) with just hints of roastiness and chocolate. The taste is roasty, fruity and bittersweet chocolate. All in all it isn’t a bad beer but it is in no way an Imperial Stout. Label it a porter and it’d have gotten a warmer reception.

Ok. Finally got a can from Aeon Mall. Nose is sweet and rich malts. I get lactose, chocolate, vanilla, and something like candy toffee. Some root beer in there too. It isn’t terrible, but not impressive either. We’ll generously call it a 6. Hazy almost-black, low, fine head. Flavor is sweet and candy-like. Really. That’s about it. Some vanilla, but not much real chocolate, and nothing like the roasted flavor of coffee. Lame. And the body is weak ass. Everyone knows this is not Imperial. But actually, this isn’t even a stout! It’s just an industrial brown ale.

Can from Tokyu Grocery. Roasted malt aromas with some light chocolate as it warms. Super thin porter-like body with a lot of carbonation. Watery finish with some light roasted malt that lingers. All marketing here, where the conversation went like this: "hey, imperial stout is a trending word in craft beer, let’s call this black beer an imperial stout"...smh more like LIMPerial stout. --- Beer merged from original tick of Craft Select Imperial Stout on 12 Nov 2015 at 18:56 - Score: 5. Original review text: A very average Porter. Nothing imperial or stout about this. At least it was drinkable.
