Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Jinroh! Beautiful glowing, Campari-like red-orange color. Ruby grapefruit nose with hints of mint, pepper and pith on the nose. Average carbonation with a medium body. Good pithy bitterness on the palate with some light cardboard flavor (but really doesn’t distract that much). Campari-like bone-dry finish. Enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Sir Francis Red Ale on 30 Jan 2016 at 20:03 - Score: 7. Original review text: Thanks Raul! First Panama beer!! Nice and bitter

Pours red, not much head. Aroma has little bitterness thing going on, map caramel and hops. Rowan tree berries. Taste is quite rough and bitter, not messy but hops are prickly. At the same time the body is somewhat thin. Long lingering Campari-like finish. Overall, a nice red ale, feels like a red ale and I think this one would also taste the best in Panama, under palm trees, on a beach. Quite like drinking this actually.

Bottle. Hop Hideout, Sheffield. Hazy amber. Film, and a halo of off white head. Sweet, spicy cinnamon, jammy malts. Very fusty. Some off notes of solvent, and cardboard. (The bottle is close to its BBD). Taste is light bitter. Touch of sweetness. Finishes long, lingering bitter. Still very drinkable.
