Hm, interesting. Aroma’s dark ripe fruit, yeast, malt, leather. Flavor’s somewhat similar, more bitter than sweet, barely tell the orange is there. Long bitter finish. Good stuff.

Bottle. Hazy amber, almost no foam. Aroma: barrel, curacao peel, cognac, malt, fruits, light acidity. Taste: oak, bitter orange liqueur, a bit sour, warming. Great ale.

Bottle from Wine & Cheese. Pours copper with a beige head. Aroma of Brett and orange. Med body. Flavor is Brett, wood, orange, maybe Brandy. Really pretty woody. Nice for the low ABV. I’m liking it.

Bottle. As Årh Hvad BA GM. It pours a dense, light beige head over a lightly unclear golden body. Some lacing. There’s a nice funky touch in the aroma, with orangey, boozy hints in the back. Nice but a bit one-dimensional. It’s medium to full-bodied, with a soft, smooth carbonation. Quite dry on the palate, with a pleasant, although a tad harsh, bitterness. Orange zest, some white sugar and a faint boozy touch in the flavor. Lasting citrus-zest finish. Not a beer I could drink a lot of , but it’s nice anyway. 160504

Tap at Mikkeller Tokyo. Funky, horseblanket nose with some orange juice, caramel and yeast. More horseblanket as it warms. Good carbonation with a well-rounded mouthfeel and nice hoppy bitterness on the palate. Some pepper and grassy hops on the finish with some light booze from the grand marnier I assume. Quite nice. --- Beer aliased from original tick of Årh Hvad (BA Grand Marnier) on 22 Feb 2016 at 19:24 - Score: 8. Original review text: Tis quite like an Orval
