Can. Black with big dark brown head. Roasted malts, chocolate, prunes, lots of coffee, pecans, ash, sweet dark overripe fruits. Quite sweet, medium bitter. Full bodied with creamy texture. Quite nice!

Tap at Dois Corvos, Lisbon, 28th October 23. Pours black and rich. Aroma is roasted malts, ash, smoke and light caramel. Taste is burnt sugar, caramel, roasted malts and chocolate, good bitterness. Nice porter

Keg at Babao, Porto, 26/10/22. Pitch black with a lasting tan head. Nose is earthy, dark malts, liquorice, spice, dark chocolate. Taste comprises chocolate, light smoke, meaty, umami, spice, dried fruit rinds. Medium plus bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with a spike of alcohol. Decent enough old skool leaning impy.

330 ml bottle, from a SPAR shop in Funchal. ABV is 8.5%. Black colour, moderate tan head. Moderate aroma of lightly roasted malts and chocolate. Smooth flavour, roast malts, chocolate and a hint of liquorice, not too sweet.

Creamy light brown head stayed on a dark brown body. Coal, nutty & roasted aroma. Medium to full bodied, smooth creamy & clean on the back. Spicy, roasted, nutty, caramel & coffee tastes with a rather limp finish. And there's nothing worse than a limp finish....
