On tap at Gastro Pub Tadg’s, Kyoto. Pours golden with white head. Citrus, fruity, yeasty, bready. Bit sourish, light bodied, refreshing. Not bad, but something feels off.

Tap at Oedo. Cloudy pale, gold with a finger of foam that lingers. Nice saison-like yeasty nose with some lemon and big floral notes (I guess that is the carnation). Slightly tart on the palate with the yeast really shining. Kind of zesty with some almost limestone-like notes. Minerally finish, but dry and not overly sweet. I liked this. --- Beer merged from original tick of Hanakin Carnation on 02 May 2016 at 18:18 - Score: 7. Original review text: Light floral notes. A bit of tang.

On tap at Craft Beer Holiday. Ise kadoya Hanakin carnation 4%
An opaque gold pour with a candyish fruit aroma. Medium to light bodied with a wheaty citrus flavor. Solid enough and kind of odd which is no surprise as it was made with a yeast cultivated from a carnation. 3.4

Tap at Bung. Cloudy, pale yellow, bright, with a thin, fine, lace. Flowery, airy nose with citrus, bread, strange but interesting, a bit of berry, minerals. Lightly tart flavor, flowery, light citrus, white bread, again, airy. Light and a bit thin. Fun, tasty, and summery, but a bit weird.
