Tap at Dexters. Orange-brown, looks unfiltered. Big, steady off-white/beige head. Fresh and zesty up front, with a big bold rye-gingerbread finish. Smooth and clean for the ABV. Well balanced, sort of a benchmark Rye beer. Caramel rye all the way, some balancing orange citrus hop tone. Quite nice.

(Bottle) Clear amber with a ruby tint. Little head. Pleasant aroma: hops, spice and candy overlaying a tangy fruity (maybe orange) aroma. Rich full bodied with lovely carbonation. Taste starts with caramel, spice and some citrus and shifts quickly to a pretty assertive bitterness that lasts. Very nice.

Bottle. Nice creamy head with good duration. Color is dark amber. Aroma and taste are caramel, hops, malt, notes of flowers, mild hoppy and light bitter finish. Probably not as fresh as it should have been.

355 ml bottle courtesy of my secret santa joeneugs. Pours hazy amber with a rather small offwhite head that leaves lots of sticky trace on the glass while dissipating. Smell is sweet, malty, fruity, floral and hoppy with caramel, oily pine, resinous wood, grapefruit juice, nougat, toffee, alcohol, unripe tropical fruits, lemon zest, orange zest, crackers, black currant tea, cedar, dried apricots and hints of raisins in brandy. Taste is tiny sweet and bitter with caramel, oily pine, grapefruit juice, orange peal, resinous wood, biscuits, unripe tropical fruits, alcohol, bread, black currant tea, lemon zest, dried apricots and hints of minerals. Mouthfeel is round, oily bitter, slightly astringent and medium to full bodied. Finish is bitter with bread, grapefruit rinds, oily pine, resinous wood, dried apricots, unripe pineapple, unripe mango, black currant jam and orange peal. Very smooth and balanced. A great beer!
