Medium brown colour. Very hoppy aroma, quite ’green’. Flavour has a good level of malt sweetness with light caramel.

Bottle. Pours clear reddish amber with a medium beige head that leaves great lacing. Aroma is pine, citrus and caramel. Flavor is the same, quite malt forward, caramel and spicy rye notes dominate over pine and herbal hops. Lightly sweet and medium bitter. Dry, bitter and spicy finish. Medium bodied.

Shared from a 12 oz bottle at home. Pours a cloudy deep copper with a white head. Fruity hop aroma. Nice full mouthfeel. Bitter finish.

Bottle at home (Apr ’12). Mahogony verging on a coppery red colour with a big dollop of foamy head. Lots of tropical fruits on the nose, pine, caramel malts, sweet fruit. Sweet malts at the fore of the taste backed up by juicy fruity hops, grain, just about getting the rye. Medium bodied with medium carbonation, creamy and smooth. One to return to for sure!

Bottle. Pours a deep copper with a good sized off white head. The aroma of piney resinous hops and rye are obvious. This thing really packs a similar punch on the flavor side. Bitter hops explode on the palate, with some spicy rye and sweet maltiness in the mix. Alcohol is present too, but disappates quickly. Low carbonation, huge mouthfeel, lingering bitterness.... Man this is one serious beer!

Bottle from Cotteridge wines drank at home; had this a few times already and has never disappointed. Pours darker than normal IPA’s, has a great oily mouth feel that coats your taste buds with a glorious hoppy taste.

Bottle. Almost clear, deep red liquid with smaller off-white head with big bubbles. Aroma of pine, sweet caramel, tangerine, toffee, tropical fruit and maybe some light rye. Too malty for me. Taste is light sweet and medium bitter with caramel and biscuit. Medium bodied with medium carbonation. Ok but too much on the malty side for me.

355ml bottle. Pours a very dark reddy caramel with a large head. Aroma is mango and piney hops with caramel malt underneath. Taste has some piney hops to start with a bittersweet, caramel malt and mango finish.

Rather high viscosity, like pouring glue into my glass. Aroma has rye porridge, sweet malt and some fruits. Flavour has some sweetish malt, american hops, exotic fruits and rye in the finish. A warm feeling of alcohol in the aftertaste. Interesting, one of the best rye beers I’ve had. A DIPA on the Barley Wine side.

Nice, fresh nose. I like the balance between the rye, hops, sweetness and bitterness. First the hops hit the palate, then I notice a very pleasant rye taste. The sweetness holds off until the hops yield to a nice, smooth finish. A very good beer.
