A Unique Dry-Hopped Sweet Tart Sour Mash Ale. We soured the wort on the Hot Side with Lactobacillus for a few days and then brewed up this smooth and hoppy sour. It tastes like a big bowl of fruity candy or some chewable flavored vitamins, but what's the difference? It's sweet, tart, and sassy, just like the tasty cherry pie that your favorite aunt makes. 355ml bottle. Pours a clear pale yellow with a medium, frothy, long lasting, white head that leaves curtains of lace. Sweet, sour, fruity aroma of pale malt, tropical fruit, peach, apricot, generic citrus and Lacto. Sweet fruity flavour of pale malt, lemon, lime, crab apple, white grape skin, grapefruit, orange, mango, kiwi, passionfruit, pineapple, peach and floral hops with a dry, crisp, sour Lacto finish. Light to medium body with a watery texture and average carbonation. Not bad.

Slightly hazy golden and copper coloured body with a nice, relatively thick two centimetre tall off-white head. Aroma of grass, yeast, bright soured and tart scents and a good dose of supportive malt and grain. Light to Medium-bodied; Funky, grassy and herbal characteristics up front with a good malt and grain bite along with some alcohol and grasses with dry hay and of course the most pungent - yeast flavours that range from bread to coriander seed and light bananas, all with the light, tart and noticeable funky quality throughout. Aftertaste shows a lot of complexity while still remaining true to the funky quality and relatively simple flavours - tart, dry and funky, but showing some hops, light fruits and a touch of spice near the end with the coriander seed and curacao around the edges. Overall, a nice and interesting beer that does the style very well with the funk and tart notes hitting just perfectly, while remaining refreshing and clean. I sampled this stubby twelve ounce bottle purchased from Whole Foods in Pentagon City (Arlington), Virginia on 20-September-2016 for US$1,99 sampled at home in Washington in front of the store on 16-June-2018 a day before Father's Day!
