Bottle: (labeled as Chillwave Double India Pale Ale) Pours clear, orange-amber with a short beige head. Orange-peel, sweet fruit aroma. Taste is orange nectar, sugar, sweet , malty. Oily, boozy, creamy...sticky.... Very good....but remarkably sweet.

Nosferatu Bill, I thank you immensely. A little too citrusy.

Flavor is more mellow; crisp caramel malt mixed with hop juice but very balanced, maybe a bit too much? Bitterness is not strong

12 oz. bottle thanks to Rob B. Labeled under the “Chill wave” name. Color is orange with a golden hue, some retention. Aroma of tropical fruit and earthy hops.
Lightly sweet, malty presence upfront with the tropical fruit hops followed by hints of resin, and a dash of sugar sweetness. Finish has light earthiness with the alcohol making itself known. Medium body with light creamy carbonation and a lightly sticky texture.
Overall, a very sweet for a DIPA that still has a balanced bitterness that doesn’t overwhelm the palate. Well made

Refrigerated 12 oz. brown Chillwave bottle, best by date May 20, 2014 (less than a month old) poured into a snifter. Pours clear copper with small white head. Aroma is excellent grapefruit, medium body, low carbonation, and some small bubble lacing. Taste is rich grapefruit, tropical fruit, some pine, and solid malt backbone. Great double IPA.

Location: 12 oz bottle from Sparrow, 3/15/14, as Chillwave Double IPA
Aroma: The aroma is clean and hoppy, fresh mango, pine/resin, and some grapefruit
Appearance: Pours a bright, clear, orange color, with small off-white head and some strong lace
Flavor: The flavor is clean hops, medium sweet and medium bitter, balanced and flavorful
Palate: The body is medium, it has average carbonation, and a clean, mid-dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a really nice DIPA. It has fresh and clean flavors, and a well-balanced taste overall. It isn't the most bitter example of the style out there, but just a really tasty and nicely made example. Really enjoyed this.

Draft (Chillwave re-named release) at ChurchKey poured into a tasting snifter. Pours an amber color with a nice amount of off-white head. Good lacing. Aromas of citrus, caramel, dank notes. Tasting notes of citrus, tropical fruit, light pine, citrusy hops. Medium body with a semi-dry finish. Nice juicy mouthfeel. Just a tinge of alcohol but pretty smooth for the most part. Very nice, one of my favorite offerings from Great Lakes.

Nice, well-balanced IPA. Beautiful peachy and tangerine head. Pours orange with decent head and lacing. Some nice grapefruit tinges here as well. Booze present in aroma but well integrated. Bitter finish. Tap at Rustico.
