12 ounce bottle. Pours a hazy orange amber color. Medium-sized rocky white head. Rich sweet malt aroma with a big pine hop bouquet. Huge bittersweet toasted malt flavor has a complex hop bill. I detect notes of citrus, pine, tropical fruit and chewy, resiny bitterness. The 9.4% alcohol is easily lost in this complex menagerie of malt and hop flavor. Despite the huge flavors here, there is a sense of balance that allows for a wonderful warming and spicy bitter finish. Nice clinging lace stays through to the finish.

Bottle @ home, via trade with Homer321 (I think). Thanks bro! Pours a murky yellow orange appearance with a cream colored head. Floral, grapefruity, bready aroma with a bit of pine and caramel. Toasty malty, spicy, piney, grapefruity hoppy, mild caramel flavor. Decent but maybe Iβll give a bit fresher bottle a shot.

Crisp ruby and peach-tinted copper coloured body with a bright bronze glow and a nice two centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of alcohol, resinous hops, pine, strong malt and some light grapes. Full-bodied; Strong rich malt and sweet flavours with a good piercing resin and syrupy hop flavour that balances well. Aftertaste shows a lot of alcohol, some light fruit flavours, a hint of resin, a lot of caster sugar sweetness and a rich, hoppy finish that doesnβt overwhelm the palate. Overall, a very well crafted Imperial IPA that is strong, but doesnβt seem as strong as it really is - the hops worked well and the balance was in check. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in McLean, Virginia on 02-April-2013 for US$2.79 sampled at home in Washington on 09-July-2013.

Bottle: Poured a deep amber/orangey color ale with a rather large foamy head with good retention and some lacing. Aroma consists of fruity hoppy notes with light citrus notes as well with some residual sugar. Taste is also dominated by fruity ester with fruity hops notes and some citrus undertones with some light residual sugar notes. Malt backbone is solid and provides a nice smooth aftertaste. Body is quite full with good carbonation, Solid rendition of the style with good effort to limit the amount of bitterness in the aftertaste.

12 ounce bottle from Studio B, Fayetteville. Pours a clear amber color with a medium sized off-white head. Decent head retention. Big toffee malt aroma with candied citrus, citrus, herbal and resin hops. The taste is toffee malts with some nutty notes, resin, tropical and citrus hops. Medium-full bodied. Just a little bit too drinkable.
