So let’s get the stories flowing and share a little ’Folklore’. A bracingly deep ale, built dark and rich with an elegantly lean body, accompanied by heady aromas of Belgian yeast, earthy hops and gently kissed by a wisp of smoke.

From 75 cl bottle shared at home. Pours black with a tan head. Aroma of roasted grain. Flavors of chocolate, coffee and a hint of toffee. Bitter, roasted finish.

Draught @ CBC2013. Pours hazy black with a creamy mocha head that quickly dissipates while leaving a small trace on the glass. Smell is tiny sweet and malty with dark bread, roasted malts, liquorice, bitter chocolate, lemon zest, pine needles, dark roast coffee, charred wood and ash. Taste is sweet, bitter and malty with roasted malts, dark bread, pine needles, lemon zest, dark roast coffee, bitter chocolate, burnt wood, grapefruit rinds, grass, biscuits and burnt cookies. Mouthfeel is creamy, silky, soft and medium bodied. Finish is tiny sweet, bitter and malty with dark bread, biscuits, roasted malts, dark roast coffee, grass, pine needles, burnt cookies and charred wood.

200ml shared with Skinnyviking, from tap at Mikkeller & Friends. Jet black body, fawn-coloured head. Dotted spots to the glassware. Sweet malts and herbal hops to the nose. Flavoured with dark fruits, anise and vanilla sweetness. Roasted bittersweet tail. Medium to full bodied. Another good one from the brewery (Copenhagen, 22.05.2013).

On tap at CBC, pours black with a small tan head. Aroma of lightly toasted malt, dry roast, and some wild farmhouse notes. Flavour brings out moderate roasted malt, Belgian yeast, and dry bready malts. Very dry and farmhouse dominated. Very easy drinking. Great stuff.

Fat på CBC 2013. Smak och doft av choklad, kaffe med toner av laktris, chili. Syrlig och frisk med örtig beska och gott om kolsyra.
