Inspired by the traditional rustic brews of Belgium, our iconic American farmhouse saison is charmingly complex but eminently drinkable.
Artfully spiced with coriander, ginger, orange peel and grains of paradise, its champagne-like effervescence leads to a crisp, dry finish, delighting discerning drinkers everywhere.

Bottle from Beers of Europe (although previously tried in American Flatbread in Burlington, Vermont). Poured a pale golden colour with a fluffy white head and some floating yeast. Strong aroma of soft fruit, Belgian yeast and lemon zest. Initial flavours of peach, dry grain, wheat and just a hint cough medicine. Chewy malt on the finish with some light fruit and yeast esters.

Bottle: Pours hazy yellow with a soft, short white head. Apple/pear aroma. Flavour is banana, pear, lemon...light yeast. Ginger and spices. Very light and soft. Rather nice.

355ml bottle. Cloudy, yellowish pale golden colour with huge, frothy, half-way lasting, minimally lacing, white head. Biscuit malty aroma with notes of lemon, hints of peach, a minimally herbal and floral touch, cautious peppery spiciness. Taste is minimally sweet biscuity malty, hints of orange, herbs, peppery yeast spiciness, bitter hoppy overtones; effervescent carbonation. Superbly balanced.

Bottle from The Beerhive. Hazy pale golden body with tiny yeast flecks floating around. Massive off-white head. Lively carbonation. Nice lacing. Aroma of lemon, lime, yeast and white pepper. Salty, dry flavour with muted notes of blood orange and lemon. Lovely peppery spice in the finish. Medium body with a slightly oily texture. Spritzy carbonation. It tastes genuinely Belgian rather than a cheap imitation. Crisp, supremely drinkable and the flavour lingers long after each sip.

Bottle. Pours hazy light yellow with a finger thick head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty, kind of meadow with flowers and honey. Full body with average carbonation. Flavour is sweet, with fruity yeast, honey, coriander and spices. Sweet finish.

355ml bottle from Nina’s Mini Market. Near clear golden body. Two-finger sized, white head, slowly fading, laces well. A floral touch to fresh citrus nose followed by a fruity taste of orange and lemon, with a little spiced tartness to it. Smooth bittersweet ending. Mouthfilling, well-made and refreshing (hotel room, Edinburgh 11.08.2013).

Bottle at Deano’s monthly tasting, September 2013. Poured a cloudy light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is malt yeast and citrus fruit. The flavour is weak bitter sweet with a yeasty citrus fruit palate and a zesty fruit finish. Didn’t do much for me.
