"Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high

Cedar plank, sweet tangerine, resin-like hops, pervasive, kept in check by good malt backbone, spicy notes int he tail end, candied a bit.

Draft at Crunchy’s, East Lansing. Hazy light orange body, medium clumping cream head. Fruity nose, delicate and rich with elements of citrus, flower petals, hints of pepper and clove, and some chewy sugars and hints of bubblegum. Sugary body with a bitter finish; lots of citrus rind (grapefruit/orange) and doughy yeast. Spicy and peppery. Quite nice.

Bottle at JF tasting, cheers to Frank/Ramnuts for this one - 29/12/12. Hazed mid amber with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel malts, hops, pine, orange, grapefruit. Taste follows, great hop bitterness, pine, caramel, tropical fruits. Medium body with bite, soft carbonation, hop bitterness a plenty in the finish. Decent!

0.65l bottle shared with The Tasting Crew. A light blurry glowing orange-honey colored one, lot's of small particles floating around and it has a small light sidesticking off-white head. Smells nice and light hoppy-fruity. Definitely some peach and pears here, sweet with concentrated fresh fruits. Smells not extreme, but nice. In taste it's really kind and gentle for a DIPA, a bit light in the mouthfeel perhaps with a soft carbonation level. A bit of canned pears and peach, hoppy bitterness. It's also quite easy drinking for a DIPA. 25.07.2012

Bottle at Bishops Arms Folkungagatan. Pours amber with a white head. A bitter bitter brew, lots of orange peel and somewhere in the background, a base of saison yeast.

got this pretty cheap at gorillos; $4 for a bomber. must be old but i don’t bother with the code. typical ipa appearance but does not seem to be viscous. smell is female BO, life able olfactory.. taste is big citrus green grapefruit rind experience. wewwweeww. yes, perfectly one style; chewing on an old antique harley inner tube. same with the finsh, long rototilling bitter hops experience. as bad as any ipa i’ve tasted. terribly on style. surprizingly some co2 detectable above the overwhelming flavors.
