"Clean this mess up or else we'll all end up in jail...those test tubes and the scale...just get 'em all outta here..." He was referring to the complex super-critical-CO2 hop extraction equipment set up on the table in the lab across from the brewhouse. Hop extracts are for the BIG brewers, he thought - suitable only for crummy sub-standard and barely-passable industrial lagers, not the subtle and elegant craft beer made here. But wrong he was. The New Brewer does not eschew any possible inputs. In this case the mountain of extracts will replace the mountain of hop vegetative material in the kettle thus creating cleaner hop flavors and preventing the otherwise spinach-like mess of a kettle full of super-hopped wort from clogging up a pump or worse. The sensuous honey-like amber ooze was administered intravenously to the wort kettle and the sacrament was complete. Another kettle of Hop Stoopid is once again raised up and fermented on high

Flaske 0,65l fra Systembolaget Luleå, Storheden. Gyldenbrun. Drukket i Skibotn 9 Nov 13. Høyt luftig skum som varer en god stund og danner en skumtopp. Massiv lacing. Kjempegod aroma av fersken & bær. Smaken er fint balansert. Mye frukt. Plommer. Fersken. Litt sitrus. Blir litt syrlig bitter etter hvert.

22 ounce bottle into tulip glass, bottled on 1/19/2014. Pours lightly cloudy deep golden amber color with a 2 finger dense white head with great retention, that reduces to a small cap that that lingers. Spotty soapy lacing clings around the glass. Aromas of huge mango, papaya, peach, tangerine, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon zest, floral, grass, light honey, bread, and floral/grassy earthiness. Incredible aromas with huge citrus/tropical hop presence with light-moderate malt balance; and great strength. Taste of big mango, papaya, peach, tangerine, passion fruit, pineapple, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness. Fair amount of floral/pine bitterness on the finish; with lingering notes of mango, papaya, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, tangerine, lemon zest, floral, grass, light pine, light honey, and floral/grassy earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity and balance of bright citrus/tropical hop flavors with moderate malt sweetness; with a great crisp hop/malt balance and zero cloying flavors after the finish. Medium carbonation and body; with a very smooth, and moderately crisp/sticky mouthfeel that is great. Alcohol is very well hidden with minimal warming present after the finish. Overall this is an outstanding DIPA! All around awesome complexity of bright citrus/tropical hop flavors with moderate malt balance; and very smooth and crisp to sip on for the ABV. A highly enjoyable offering.

Flaska från SB. Drucken på ölföreningen. Allt vad man vill ha av en DIPA. Rejäl fruktighet med mango, lichie, passionsfrukt, ananas och grape, rejäl kropp med syltig grape och karamell, rejäl beska, tall, resin och grape. Mycket god.

Un beau cadeau de la part d’un ami ;-) Je m’attendais à plus de corps après l’avoir humée; elle est plutôt aqueuse mais elle est définitivement excellente. J’ai hâte d’aller me servir à nouveau...

Flaska från SB. Mörkt bärnstensfärgad vätska med vitt skum. Arom av citrus, ananas, mango, honung och längst bak lite brödkaka. Relativt hög sötma som står upp mot den amerikanska humlebeskan. Lite juiceighet finns också. Eldig munkänsla utan att alkoholen blir påtaglig. Medellång efterbeska.

Tap at GABF 2013. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is rich fruity hops. The flavour is weak bitter with a rich malty grassy hoppy weak liqourice slightly watery palate. I think I made a complete mess of describing this beer but in short I liked it!
