Malty, Roasty and Deceptively Smooth. It's an easy-drinking malty Copper Ale that goes easy on the hops. Originally called the Kronik, this beer was censored by the federal label-approving agency, the BATF — they claimed the word had some sort of Marijuana reference. We slapped a “Censored” sticker on it as a joke and they accepted it. Whatever. Net contents: Ounces and ounces of Malt, Hops, Yeast and water.

Bottled. Copper is the correct name. Nice hops taste but not too much, a bit of caramel in there too. Not too shabby.

Tap at Lush Life. Rich copper brown colour, small off-white head. Aroma is malty, slight hoppiness, slightly spicy. Taste is pretty good, biscuity maltiness, hoppy bitterness in the background. Quite subtle and very easy drinking.

Bottle. Orange brown color. Grapes, grapefruit and a hint of metal in the aroma. Malty sweet flavor with just a hint of tarness, tannines, grapes, banana and berries. Oily hops in the aftertaste. Odd flavors, but still a good balance.

Bottle from J’s. Pours a slightly hazy brown with a half finger of foam. Caramel and toffee nose. Clean and very malt forward. More caramel, a little wood and earth. Dry finish. Basic, but OK for a malt head I suppose. --- Beer merged from original tick of Lagunitas Censored (Kronik) on 01 Feb 2017 at 18:46 - Score: 6. Original review text: Caramel and toffee nose.
