Barrel-Aged Sour Ale Aged on Figs and Black Cherries. A collaboration with Prairie Artisan Ales in Oklahoma, Cursed Kettles pours a deep reddish brown with ruby highlights. The initial aroma is of dark cherries with biscuit and raisin notes from a spectrum of toasted malts. Cherry, Raisin, fig, and date character dominates the flavor on top of a refreshing tartness and mild funk of Brettanomyces. The finish is dry and tart with lingering dark fruit.

Bottle from WineTree East. Pours a clear, amber with a finger of foam that dissipates quickly. Dark cherry, wood, plum, blackberry and boysenberry dominate the nose. Spritzy carbonation. Dry, tart palate, funky. Very good! --- Beer merged from original tick of (collab with) Prairie Cursed Kettles on 25 Jul 2017 at 19:32 - Score: 8. Bottle sample at a tasting at Naama’s place. Thanks Naama. Amber. Cherries, mat, oak, marzipan, a bit of figs, caramel, a bit of funk, biscuits, sweetish and slightly tart, medium-bodied. Good.

Owl Farm, tap: pours brownish red with a white head. Aroma is slightly winy, woody, plenty of cherries. Taste is cherries. Light wood sourness. Some vinegar. Pretty good. Not too sharp. Don’t really taste the dares and figs, I do not think.

On draft at Ginger Man in NYC. Pours a hazy mahogany with an ecru head. Aroma of red wine barrels. Tart, acidic flavors. Smooth light finish.

Draft: Dark amber with an off-white head. Woody, earthy, cherry aroma. Taste is mildly spicy caramel malt, cherry-wood. Pretty good...with a really solid body and mouthfeel.

Bottle. Milk, cherry, caramel malt, and hay aroma. Reddish amber with moderate head. Moderately sweet milk, cherry, caramel malt, mildly sour vinegar, and moderately bitter hay flavor. Good body. Tasty.
