Burnished gold hue with a persistent, rocky white head. Floral, spicy aroma redolent of lilacs, white pepper, and Barlett pears with undertones of blueberry honey and roses. A pleasant balance of crisp hop bitterness and clean malts adorn the spicy, herbal hop flavors lasting into a dry, refreshing finish.

Belks ESB is an amber brew with a tan head and mucho lacing. A malty aroma is followed by an intriguing, fruity, earthy flavor. A long, pleasantly bitter aftertaste ensues.

Orange tint to a golden colour. Nice head, with a great aroma. Very hoppy, citrusey...almost reminiscent of an APA. The taste is somewhat malty, but definately hoppy. I would consider this more as an APA after the first bottle, but perhaps if I drink more...i'll find the bitter notes out of it. I loved the beer nonetheless, but I just didn't see its 'esb' qualities as much as the APA.

Hazy amber, rocky off white head. Fruity hop nose. Big fruity hop flavor. Long, slightly metallic finish Rerate (draught this time) Amber,lasting tan head.Brown sugar/malt nose.Light malt fore, fruity overtones. Medium strength lasting hop finish. Great balance and lacing

I don't think this was as good as Fuller's ESB, and it didn't come close to the Crooked River version, but it was still a decent beer. Amber/orange color with a thin head. Big hops aroma with faint citrus as well. Bitter flavor with a dry finish, hops was prevalent throughout which is a must in any ESB if you ask me. Worth getting again some day.

Very nice and fairly Englishy. Dark orangey-amber color, with light foamy head. Medium bodied, and fairly smooth. This is a beer that demands to be drunk at cellar temp. When cold its overwhelmingly bitter and unbalanced, but at cellar temp, its gentle malt fruitiness shows up and proves nice character. Its still on the bitter side, but palatably so. Aroma is herbal and fruity.
