Our Black Marlin Porter is the perfect beer for a mocha mashup. The addition of coffee and cocoa plays perfectly of the roasty, chocolaty flavors of this English porter, while a hint of vanilla smooths it all out. It’s full-bodied, but not too sweet; try it for breakfast...or dessert.

(Bottle, Winter release) Black colour with big, firm, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with fresh coffee, dark chocolate, black bread, brown sugar and liquorice. Malty, roasted taste with notes of espresso, cacao, black bread, treacle, liquorice and a balanced coffee bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Rich and tasty, with lots of coffee and dark chocolate. Very nice.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Pours an opaque black with a smal, creamy, beige head. Nose is very sweet milk chocolate with a subtle hint of coffee. Medium body, still very chocolate heavy and now the coffee is also coming to the fore. Intense indeed and in spite of the sweet smell, the beer is actually bone dry with a rather malt bitter finish. Wondering if the flavors are all natural, because intense they are. 050320

Bottæe 35,5 cl. Pours an opaque black with a creamy and lacing, beige head. Distinct coffee and vanilla aroma. Medium body, dry roast and distinct coffee notes, but the vanilla adds a cloyingly sweet and artificial nose although the base beer really isn't sweet at all. Very mixed feelings about this one. 080219

Densidad normal. Bastante buena para repetir sin duda alguna. Gran cerveza.

Can pour into nonic pint glass from Andover Classic Wines. Appearance is very dark brown with mahogany--almost opaque--with trace sparkle at edge of the glass, 2-finger width foamy beige head with fair retention and mild soapy lacing. Aroma is decadent mocha (milk chocolate dominant over lightly char-roasted coffee). Taste is mocha (dark roasted/lightly burnt coffee higher in the mix than aroma), more bitter than sweet back half. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin, velvety smooth texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste with moderately strong bitter over sweet. Overall, amazing aroma and nice flavor though one dimensional and base beer is entirely obscured. Tasty dessert beer.
