The Duck-Rabbit Milk Stout is a traditional full-bodied stout brewed with lactose (milk sugar). Because lactose is unfermentable by brewer’s yeast, it remains in the beer. The subtle sweetness and fullness of flavor imparted by this sugar balances the sharpness of the highly roasted grains that give this delicious beer its black color. All year long, Milk Stout is our number one selling beer!

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a thick, tan head. The aroma is coffee, hickory, saltwater, and taffy. The flavor is salty and sweet. The palate is medium and very astringent. Overall, this stout feels more like a baltic porter, but has a nice roasted malt flavor. Not bad.

Bottle. Coffee, milk chocolate aroma. Black brown with a creamy moderate brown head. Milk chocolate, coffee, slightly tangy flavor. A little light and more carbonated than I expect in a stout, but not bad.

Purchased at Brusin’ Ales in Asheville, NC; enjoyed from my hotel room in North Charleston, SC while figuring out how much my honeymoon cost. Appearance is pitch black, moderate consistency, thin white head. Aroma of chocolate, a bit of nuts, sweetness, and cream. Taste is pretty smooth, milky, has a very very subtle hint of sourness, chocolate and cream notes. Pretty solid and good stuff.

Pours black with a small foamy head. Aroma has notes of slightly roasted malts, milk and hops. Taste is quite sweet with notes of roasted malts and milky notes. Finish is slightly sweet and lactic. Okay, quite nice stout.

On tap at Birch & Barley, October 2011. Black with a small, creamy tan head. This was almost like drinking a sweet chocolate dessert, I liked it! Also "milk", roasted malt and with a soft body.
