Refrigerated brown bomber poured into a glass. Dark brown with no head. Aroma is sweet dark malt, thick body, low carbonation, and very little lacing. Taste is sweet dark malt, nutmeg, and some anise.

Bottle from my brother. Cracked this open to accompany the change in weather. Perfect! Tons of gingerbread, fall spice, cinnamon and nutmeg, in both aroma and taste. Gentle alcohol warmth to boot. Nice autumn beer, very welcoming.

Pours a deep dark brown from a bottle, slightly rummy, cola and pumpkin smell. Dry pumpkin flavor, deep roastiness but not smoked, bitter without being offputting. Very good beer.

Bottle, 22oz. A dark brown beer topped by a small, dark beige head. The aroma is quite chocolatey, with a spiced touch, some roasted malts and brown sugar, It’s full-bodied, soft and lightly warming on the palate, with a bit more carbonation than I’d prefer. The flavor has a touch of bread crust, not that wimpy American or Swedish bread, but a good, solid Norwegian or Danish one. Caramel, toffee, roasted malts, some vanilla and licoricie too. Hints of booze and a nice bitterness to deal with the sweetness there is. Lasting sweet finish with a fine hoppy bitterness, roasted malts, some vanilla and licorice, bread crust, caramel sauce and a faint burnt hint. After a rather boring start, especially in the aroma, it sure picks up after a few sips. Quite wonderful this one I think. 150620

Part of their Blackwater Series. Pours a dark copper colour with light ruby highlights. The head is beige, fizzy with tiny bubbles, disappears quickly enough leaving not much lace. Big nutty nose from the pumpkin with spices, chocolate and vanilla. Kind of pumpkin pie with vanilla ice cream on top. Quite beautiful. Nutty flavours as well with the roasted malts, hints of coffee, spices and I would say nut again. I must say, this is a wonderful brew. A wonderful dark brew with spices and pumpkin that I love. Love so much, I am real sad to not have bought more :(

Sampled with tderoeck, 77ships and Benzai. Basically a fruit stout, albeit with pumpkin instead of the usual sweet fruits. Dense and stable, light beige head, colour very dark bronze, near to black. Aroma strongly reminiscent of cloves like any American pumpkin ale, chocolate, liquorice, coffee, rice pudding, vanilla; rich taste of fruity sweetness, tangy spiciness and caramelly and chocolatey malts, full but still less ’fat’ and oily than expected from the style, with gentle roasted bitterishness in the finish as well as spicy yeastiness and peppery hops accent. Interesting and very tasty.
