The Duck-Rabbit Baltic Porter is deep, rich and velvety soft. A full blooded roasty character with almost no burnt flavor is balanced by complex alcohol notes. Strong (9% alcohol by volume) yet unfailingly subtle, this special brew rewards unhurried attention. Enjoy!

Pitch black color. Freshly roasted espresso beans and dark chocolate exude from the nose. The mouth is smoother than silk. Heavenly. Caramel and dark chocolate mingle amongst coffee notes. A bit on the sweet side. Not authentic at all, IMO, but brilliant nonetheless.

Sampled on draft at Smokin? Joe?s in Pittsburgh PA this beer poured a black color with a huge creamy brown head that lingered forever and produced great lacing. The aroma was sweet, malty and had notes of licorice, chocolate and light floral hops. The flavor was roasty and fairly bitter with elements of port wine, licorice, chocolate syrup, vanilla, malted milk, floral hops and coffee. The finish was long with floral hops, vanilla, licorice, coffee and cocoa lingering. Amazingly full bodied, creamy and smooth. Excellent.

Draft at Birreria Paradiso. Sweet, creamy and rich like D.R. likes to do it. Smooth, almost vanilla tones. Blows away any geographically authentic version. Opaque black with a brown head. Rich! Some sugary alcohol warmth, as to the style. Would’ve guessed this was 7%. Very impressive.

A deep dark porter with a thin dark brown head. An interesting aroma os smoked wood, olives and chocolate. In mouth, a bitter chocolate, overlyed with peaty notes, dark fruits, crisp and dry, light sweetness. On tap at Pizzeria Paradiso, Feb. 27 2010.

Deep pitch black coloured body with a fully opaque body, a very thin tan head and the ’legs’ of a deep bordeaux, making for a nice look! Aroma of roasted malt, coffee, bitter nuts and a bunch of alcohol - oh yeah, some deep fruits too. Full-bodied; Deep roasty flavours with a lot of sweet vanilla and lightish fruits at the front of the palate - odd and nice at the same time. Aftertaste shows a more refined and deep roasty taste, a ton of milk and lactic qualities and some strong vanilla too - not so much coffee or chocolate though. Overall, a very nice baltic porter - great for the style, and showing a bit of a milk stout quality, which isn’t common for the style. I’d definitely recommend this, and was very happy to sample it, but at the end of the day, I’d still prefer a Zywiec Porter! I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Chevy Chase Wine & Spirits in Washington DC on 15-February-2010, sampled at home in Washington on 03-March-2010.

Bottle thanks to craftbeerdesign. Pours black with a decent foamy dark tan head. Aroma is dark and suggestive of cola or, perhaps, Dr. P. Medium plus body with mild carbonation. Flavor is very dark roasted malt with very dark fruit. Sweetish it is. Subtle dark and complex aspects. Finishes towards concentrated dried plum.Very clean and extremely sippable.

Tap at Pizzeria Paradiso. Dark brown with an edge head. Aroma of anise and milk chocolate. Great body. Flavor also has milk chocolate, and roasted coffee. Interesting.
